Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026  ·  Effective: May 29, 2026

Developer's note: This Privacy Policy was drafted by a curious developer based on research into GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and Google's data policies — not by a legal professional. While I've done my best to make it accurate, it does not constitute legal advice. If you have compliance concerns specific to your jurisdiction, consult a qualified privacy lawyer.

The Short Version (Plain English)

Here's what this blog does with your data, in plain terms:

  • What we collect: Basic navigation data (pages visited, browser type, approximate location) and nothing else directly — unless you sign up for the newsletter.
  • Who we share it with: Google (Analytics 4 for anonymous stats, AdSense for ads, Fonts for typography). No data brokers, no selling your data.
  • Do you have to agree? No. You can reject cookies and the site still works. Analytics and ads just won't load.
  • Your rights: You can ask to see, correct, or delete any data we hold about you. Email lucacutrono06@gmail.com.
  • No ads on this page. Legal pages are ad-free.

1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for this website is:

GridTechInsider
Operated by: A Curious Developer (individual, non-commercial blog)

No Data Protection Officer (DPO) is required for this website, as it is operated by an individual and does not systematically process special categories of personal data at scale.

2. Data We Collect and Why

2.1 Navigation Data

When you visit any page on idrogenocasa.it, our hosting provider and analytics service automatically record:

  • IP address (anonymized/truncated before processing)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring URL (where you came from)
  • Approximate geographic location (country/region level)

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — maintaining site security and understanding aggregate audience behavior.

Retention: Server logs are retained for 90 days. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (configured at the minimum available setting).

2.2 Cookies and Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with GridTechInsider in aggregate. GA4 is configured with IP anonymization enabled and operates under Consent Mode v2.

Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — activated only after you accept analytics cookies via the cookie banner.

Data processor: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

International transfer: Data is transferred to Google servers in the USA under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

2.3 Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

With your consent, some pages display advertisements via Google AdSense. AdSense uses cookies to show relevant ads and measure ad performance.

Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — activated only after you accept advertising cookies.

Data processor: Google LLC (same address as above).

International transfer: Same SCCs mechanism as GA4.

Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Manage ad personalization: adssettings.google.com.

2.4 Google Fonts

GridTechInsider loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google's servers receive your IP address and browser information.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — providing a consistent reading experience.

International transfer: Google Fonts data transfers are covered under SCCs.

Google Fonts privacy information: developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy.

2.5 Newsletter (If You Sign Up)

If you subscribe to the GridTechInsider newsletter, we collect your email address. This is used solely to send you new article notifications.

Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — double opt-in confirmation is required before any emails are sent.

Retention: Your email address is retained until you unsubscribe.

Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also request deletion by emailing lucacutrono06@gmail.com.
